Below you can select the board size based on the tallest chess piece. My standard size board is for a 3" chess set and I refer to it as a 3" board. For the spacing between the shelves, I allow an extra 1/4" above the tallest chess piece. For example, on a standard 3" board, the spacing between the shelves is 3.25". On a 4" board the spacing 4.25".
The overall size of a standard 3" board with this frame is 21.5" x 33.5". If you select a different size board below, you are given the number of inches to add or subtract from those dimensions based on this frame.
